Our Mission
Motto
Serving God with love and faith
The symbol of the basin, pitcher and towel refer to John 13. Jesus stood up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet. After he had washed their feet, he told them that they ought to wash one another’s feet. He gave his disciples a new commandment, “that you love one another, just as I have loved you, you should love one another.” Jesus is our example.
Purpose
The purpose of First Congregational United Church of Christ is to bind together the followers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of sharing in the worship of God and discerning God’s will.
Mission
Through the freedom of individual conscience, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures, we covenant with one another and the wider church to worship, grow our faith, reach out and support the church. Our Unity Council works with these four ministry teams: Worship, Faith Development Transformation and Support and any action groups created for a project.
